About Tooljar
Free online tools that respect your privacy — no uploads, no sign-up, ever.
Tooljar is a free collection of 9 online tools for everyday image tasks — compress, resize, crop, convert, rotate, watermark, image-to-PDF, colour palette and Base64. There's nothing to install and no account to create. Open a tool, get your result, and close the tab. That's the whole experience.
Privacy is the whole point
Most "free" online tools upload your files to a server to process them. Tooljar doesn't. Every tool runs entirely inside your browser using the modern Canvas API. Your images and documents never leave your device — there is no upload, no storage, and nothing for us to see. It's faster, it works offline once loaded, and your private files stay private. For anyone preparing sensitive documents — an ID photo, a scanned signature, a bank statement — that difference matters.
How it works under the hood
Modern browsers are surprisingly capable. The same Canvas API that powers online games and photo editors can decode an image, resize or recompress it, and export the result — all in memory, on your own machine. Tooljar is built on that: each tool loads your file directly into the page, does its work locally, and hands you a download. Libraries for special jobs (creating a PDF, zipping a batch) run in the browser too. No server ever touches your files, which is exactly why we can promise they are never uploaded.
Why we built it
We wanted simple, fast tools without watermarks, file-size limits, paywalls, or the privacy trade-off of uploading personal photos and documents to a stranger's server. Too many "free" tools bury the actual button under sign-up walls and pushy upsells, or quietly stamp a watermark on your download. So we built tools that do one job well, do it where your files already are — your browser — and get out of your way.
What you get
- 100% private — files are processed locally and never uploaded.
- Free & unlimited — no sign-up, no limits, no watermark on your output.
- Batch-friendly — process many images at once and download them as a ZIP.
- Works everywhere — any modern browser on desktop, tablet or phone.
Who it's for
Students and job-seekers use Tooljar to fit photos and signatures under strict exam-form limits. Creators and sellers resize images for Instagram, WhatsApp and online listings. Developers grab hex colours from a design, convert to WebP for faster sites, or encode a small icon to Base64. And anyone with a folder of oversized photos can shrink them in seconds. If it involves an image and a browser, there's probably a tool here for it.
Always growing
Tooljar started with image tools, but the plan is broader — PDF tools and more are on the way. The brand is deliberately "online tools", not "image tools", because the goal is a whole toolbox of small, fast, private utilities. If there's something you'd like us to build, tell us.
How we keep it free
Tooljar is supported by unobtrusive ads. We never sell your data — in fact, the tools never collect it in the first place. See our privacy policy for the full details.
